NAPIT Welcomes Green Deal Home Improvement Fund

NAPIT Welcomes Green Deal Home Improvement Fund

The Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) recently announced more cashback for those having energy efficiency improvements carried out on their homes through the Green Deal Home Improvement Fund [1]. NAPIT says this is good news for installers, as it is now easier for them to get involved and take advantage of the increased business from this scheme.

From June, households will be able to get up to £7,600 back through the fund, giving them the chance to take control of their bills and have warmer, greener homes. The scheme helps people to install energy efficiency measures such as solid wall insulation and new heating systems by providing them with money back on the contributions they make towards improvements.

Only Green Deal authorised installers and providers can register with the Green Deal Home Improvement Fund to offer the scheme to customers. This is to maintain the Green Deal’s high standards of consumer protection. Installers can now access cashback on behalf of their customers, without having to go through a provider, making the whole process simpler for everyone involved.

Managing Director of NAPIT Certification, David Cowburn, said: “As the Government’s Green Deal has yet to deliver the promise it held before its launch last year, this extra injection of funds to the scheme is welcome news. It is now easier than ever to get involved and with tens of thousands of assessments being carried every month, installers can place themselves in a position to take advantage of the business that the Green Deal is generating.”

NAPIT offer Certification for MCS and Green Deal Installers looking to take advantage of the recent changes to the Government initiative. Installers can learn more about NAPIT’s Green Deal scheme here.
