Sparking Awareness Throughout the Country
NAPIT has created a leaflet offering homeowners guidance on modern consumer units including the why and when fuseboxes and consumer units in domestic premises need to be replaced by registered competent installers.
It is now mandatory for any consumer units installed or replaced in domestic premises to be made of, or enclosed by, a non-combustible material. Modern consumer units come with various configurations of protective devices giving consumers the best option to suit their installation and budget, and compared to older set-ups, they can also detect existing circuit faults and can switch off any electrical circuit if a dangerous situation arises.
Frank Bertie, NAPIT Trade Association Chairman and NAPIT Technical Director said, "This leaflet answers all the questions that consumers need to be asking when considering the electrical safety of their home and all of the installations that affect it. Professionally printed with space available for NAPIT members to add their details, this brand-new leaflet is ideal for distributing to current and potential new customers and also offers a cost-effective opportunity for members to boost their business in the local area."
The leaflet is available to purchase from the NAPIT Direct website in packs of 100 at a cost of £10.95.
NAPIT will continue to promote electrical safety messages and their work with numerous organisations to promote the use of registered, competent installers.
