NAPIT Create New City and Guilds Accredited Course for Electricians
NAPIT have today launched a brand new City & Guilds accredited training course, offering electrical installers an even better route to demonstrate competence in their trade.
The new City & Guilds accredited NA7232-(5) Competence in the Installation and Testing of Electrotechnical Systems course was introduced based on feedback from an Investors in Customers (IIC) survey conducted by NAPIT last year to listen to their customers and identify key changes that could be made to improve their experience. The new course replaces the Blueflame Certificate of Competence Assessment and the Electricians’ Certificate of Competence previously offered by NAPIT.
It allows those who have already built up at least two years of experience in the electrical trade to formally demonstrate the level of competence necessary to join an electrical self-certification scheme and start saving significant time and money on the cost of notifying their own electrical work.
It provides the added benefits of:
- Greater recognition through City & Guilds Accredited status
- Greater flexibility with introduction of a new distance learning option
- Evergreen status which means that, subject to successful completion and ongoing assessments if you should chose to become a NAPIT member, you will never need to resit the course
Commenting on the launch, Head of NAPIT Training Michael Collinge said: By developing this brand new course in close cooperation with the City & Guilds Accreditation Team, NAPIT aimed to significantly improve the route available to experienced electricians looking to demonstrate trade competence.
With introduction of City & Guilds accredited status for our new course, along with more flexible study options, we've done just that. We've also listened closely to feedback from NAPIT members and created a course that, after successful completion, should never have to be retaken. That this new course is available for exactly the same price as our previous offering too means it really does represent fantastic value for money.
