NAPIT Sponsors Successful UK Sustainability Conference

NAPIT is delighted to have sponsored FutureBuild 2014, a brand new UK sustainability conference, which was held at Sheffield City Hall on 5th-6th November.

FutureBuild 2014 focused on the sustainability of housing, renewable energy and community energy schemes and was launched as part of the RE-GREEN project, a European sustainability project funded through the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). The RE-GREEN project aims to improve regional sustainable policies across Europe with a special focus on greening the building sector.

From political representatives to sustainable energy industry specialists and business entrepreneurs, a range of sessions and networking opportunities relating to sustainable housing, renewable energy and community energy schemes meant that FutureBuild 2014 appealed to many working within this industry. Key decision makers and industry experts descended upon Sheffield City Hall during the two busy days of speaker sessions and engaging debates answering many key questions on the sustainable built environment.

A Question Time style debate, chaired by Dave Sowden of the Sustainable Energy Association (SEA) and featuring key politicians and industry experts, was the highlight of the conference at FutureBuild 2014, captivating the audience with an engaging, high-level debate on the issues facing the industry.

The conference reached its finale with a spectacular Gala Dinner held in the historic Cutlers Hall in Sheffield on Thursday 6th November at which Lord Digby Jones, the trouble-shooter himself, delivered an enthralling keynote speech.

Martin Bruno, NAPIT Chief Operating Officer, said: The conference received a lot of favourable feedback from delegates and we were delighted with the passion with which the sessions were delivered and the level of interest visitors showed throughout the two days. At NAPIT we believe it is important to support the sustainability agenda and we feel the conference helped a lot of local businesses and even large corporations in addressing any issues facing them.
