NAPIT go the Extra Mile
In order to do a job effectively, you need the right tools for the job. That’s something Roy Sherliker of Elec-Craft Electrical Services in Tamworth knows only too well.
In January, thieves broke into Roy’s van, removed the lock on the side door and helped themselves to thousands of pounds worth of equipment, which are vital for him to complete his day to day job.
Upon finding the damage Roy immediately rang the police and his insurance provider, NAPIT Insurance, to start the process of sorting out the mess the thieves had caused. He also posted messages on the NAPIT forum warning others of what had happened and after receiving a great level of support from fellow members, Roy said, “After an awful night, I was overwhelmed by the outpouring of support. Some NAPIT members even offered to loan tools so that I didn’t have to cancel work already pencilled in.”
When news of what had happened reached the NAPIT Group Chief Executive, Mike Andrews, he wanted to help, “Our members are part of a NAPIT community. Roy has been with us for over 10 years, and we really wanted to help get him back on his feet as quickly as possible.”
To ensure Roy didn’t have to miss a day of work, Mike contacted NAPIT Electrical Wholesale and arranged for a pre-credited account to be put in place. The Manager of NAPIT Electrical Wholesale, Matthew Pitt, visited Roy onsite and he was quickly kitted out with brand new equipment, including an impact driver, combi-drill and a selection of chisel bits and hole cutters.
Roy was soon back on the road with the tools he needed, saying “The support I have received from NAPIT and their members has been humbling, enabling me to get on with my work. Most importantly it means I don’t let my customers down, keeping them happy keeps them coming back!”
